CAMERA CLUB ANNUAL
Permanent Quarters Established and Officers Elected, 2002
"The Grand Rapids Camera Club held its annual meeting last evening in the kindergarten rooms in the Shepart block. This was chosen as a permanent place of meeting for the club and meetings will be held on the first and third Fridays of every month. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: President, C. J. Sawyer, Vice-President, Dr. Maria W. Norris, Secretary, W. Earl Mulliken, Treasurer, Charles S. Reeves. All business matters of the club will hereafter be in the hands of an executive committee and the regular fortnightly meetings will become more interesting on that account."
This Club is for the study of photography in its various
branches, and especially for the development of the artistic side of the
subject.
The club rooms in the Auditorium Building are commodious and
pleasant, and offer the facilities for doing all kinds of work. Attention
is especially called to the following:
1. A large Dark Room, with running water and
utensils for developing.
2. An Enlarging Apparatus, which fully covers all plates 5 x 7 and
under, from which any degree of enlargement may be obtained, night or day.
3. An 8 x 10 Studio Camera, fitted with a fine and very rapids
Portrait Lens.
4. A Sky-light to work under.
5. A Printing Room with lockers for containing materials.
Meetings are held Every Friday Night, at each of
which some photographic subject is demonstrated or discussed. Visit us,
and you will be welcome.
This Club is for amateurs, whether beginners or advanced
workers. If beginners, we will help you to get the best results. If
advanced workers, come and make yourselves useful.
Any inquiries will gladly be answered by officers or members.

The books available for the Grand Rapids Camera Club only gave the officers and, in some cases, those involved in the Exhibition and Entertainment Committee. These books for 1899, 1900, 1902, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910 are located at the Grand Rapids Public Library.
