Can You Rightfully Longer Withold it?
RED CROSS: Immediately war was declared, with a burning desire
for service in their hearts, women turned to the Red Cross. By leaps and
bounds the number of workers increased. Today, throughout the land,
hundreds of work rooms, run by thousands of women, are turning out the hospital
supplies for our great army.
CONSERVATION: "Food will win the war," said Hoover, and he turned to the women
of the land with a plea to can, conserve and save. The housewife was the
key with which the storehouse of America was unlocked and half a world was fed.
LIBERTY LOAN: Even in fields of finance, eager to help, women have taken their
places in the second line of defense and as organizers, salesmen and
subscribers, have played a big part in four Liberty Loans.
INDUSTRY: Office, factory and store have claimed her. By the thousands
women are closing up the gaps in the ranks of industry left vacant by our
soldiers.
MAN POWER: And of thos soldiers themselves, what can be said -- that great army
of Liberty recruited from the sons, husbands and sweethearts of the women of the
land! Women have given their all, even unto these, and given gladly.
